About the Playbook
Social impact organizations are wrestling with how to provide effective leadership training that infuses the distinct values, mindsets, and interests that today’s emerging leaders bring to their work. The Emerging Leaders Playbook is curated with the evolving needs of these leaders in mind. Whether it’s skills like interpersonal communication and emotional intelligence, or resiliency and self-awareness — the Playbook tackles these and many other themes through a series of tips and practical tools.
The playbook is organized into three sections. Section One and Two, Leading Self and Leading Others, provide the tools and resources that support emerging leaders to proactively facilitate their own leadership development. Section Three, Influencing Organizational Change, provides emerging leaders with the tools they need to become intrapreneurs within their organizations, and cultivate change from the inside out.
We’ll be updating resources regularly. If you have ideas or additional content that we should highlight, please drop us a line (emergingleader@thirdplateau.com). And, if you’d like to learn more about the Emerging Leaders Program or resources, we’d love to hear from you.
How to Use the Playbook
As emerging leaders, focus on the objectives and challenge yourself beyond the fundamentals. Pick the tips and tools that work best for you. Engage with the resources as an opportunity to learn and expand your thinking. Each section of the Playbook is divided into three parts:
- Objectives: The key skillsets essential to effective leadership.
- Tips & Tools: The required activities and actions to help master the key learning objectives.
- Additional Resources: More resources you can put into action in order to successfully progress and support development in key areas.
